What are therapeutic peptides?

Peptides are an evolving therapeutic area of medicine. There are over 7000 peptides that occur naturally in the body. When bound to receptors they can create a wide range of responses on the cellular level that are well tolerated and have few side effects. 

Peptides are amino acid sequences have been found to be useful in disease state management, performance, anti-aging, infectious disease, metabolic disorders, injuries, and esthetics, to name a few.

 Insulin is an example of a peptide that has been used for decades but there are many more. They can be utilized safely with proper training. To date, there are 60 peptides that have been approved by the FDA for use. Many of these peptides have a wide therapeutic index which allows for their safe usage. Depending on the case they can be delivered topically, orally, or by injection.
